In July 2016 three ultra runners, Yassine Diboun, Scott Loughney, and Travis Liles, set out to break the record for the fastest known time to run across Oregon on the Pacific Crest Trail—a 453mile push.
It was a challenge that pushed the men far beyond their physical and emotional limits. Boasting a wide variety of beautiful and technical terrain from high alpine passes to lush forests to barren lava fields, it was a journey that could only be accomplished with the mantra, “One step at a time.”
Seven months later, Pursuit Films with sponsorship from trail running brands Inov-8 and Territory Run Co, has released “One Step At A Time,” a 30-minute documentary about the three men’s journey on the Oregon Pacific Crest Trail.

The documentary
The film not only highlights the immensity of the men’s challenge but also gives an intimate view in to the men’s emotional battles.
While Liles was forced to drop out of the challenge with an injury, Diboun and Loughney successfully set a new supported record of eight days, 12 hours and five minutes. They beat the previous record of eight days and 19 hours held by Joe McConaughy.
Currently Brian Donnelly still holds the self supported record at seven days and 22 hours for the 453 mile section of the trail.
While these men are keen trail runners, none are professional athletes and each has a normal job. It just shows that if you set your heart to something what can be achieved. Not only did these men accomplish something for themselves, but they also raised a huge amount of money for three charities. It’s a story of trial and triumph, and an incredible exertion of human will.
