We’ve teamed up with Rad Season to bring you a list of the best endurance races taking place in the UK this year. If you’re looking to challenge yourself and test your fitness, then look no further:
Nuclear Rush – May
Taking place from 13 May to 14 May in Brentwood, Essex, Nuclear Rush incorporates an ultra-gritty, properly muddy, obstacle-loaded assault course that tests your endurance, strength and agility. There are two course to choose from: 7km and 12km.
Nuclear’s well known for delivering award winning events with big, high quality man-made obstacles designed to challenge and test every ability of fitness on fast-paced, flowing, punishing courses over epic natural, varied terrain. Expect the infamous deathslide, zip-lines and the world’s longest monkey-bars (Gorilla Bars) at this event.

Rat Race: The Crossing – June
Three days. Two coasts. One hell of an adventure. Taking place 2 June – 4 June, Lake District.
“Get ready to tackle 200 gnarly miles over three days as you take on the fully way marked tracks that span through the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors. Sample some of the UK’s finest mountain biking as you ride through jaw-dropping scenery”.
This one’s an awesome test if you fancy raising some extra funds for a charity as well. The event have teamed up with Children with Cancer UK and if you raise £750, they will reimburse you the entrance fee.

Race to the King – June
“A double marathon to honour the ancient Kings” taking place 24 June – 25 June.
Walk, jog or run 53.5-miles along the South Downs Way (West Sussex) to the burial place of the first Kings of England.
The breathtaking route starts near Arundel in West Sussex and runs through the South Downs National Park until you reach the climactic finish on the steps of Winchester Cathedral. Whether you are an elite ultra-runner or a weekend walker looking to raise money for charity you will race through some of the finest scenery in the UK with views stretching across Southern England and out to sea.

The Suffering Race Summer Weekender – June
Taking place 24 June – 25 June at Rockingham Castle Estate, Leicestershire.
This is an all family endurance race! The adults can take on either the 5km, 10km or 10 mile course complete with gnarly obstacles, knee deep mud pits and intense terrain, this race isn’t called “suffering” for nothing.
For young adventurers, a Mini Military Mud Run will also be taking place. Kids can choose between a 3km and 5km course which are filled with great obstacles, slides, walls, water and lots of mud.
IRONMAN Wales – September
This year’s event is taking pace 10 September in Pembrokeshire, Wales.
IRONMAN Wales is now well established as having one of the most challenging bike and run courses on the IRONMAN calendar. It consists of a long distance triathlon consisting of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and then a full marathon. Not for the faint hearted.
Last year, 2,000 endurance athletes took on the challenges, starting and finishing in Tenby.
