Whales are usually shy creatures. For tourists on a whale watching boat, usually just spotting this majestic mammal from afar is an incredible experience. But getting to touch a wild whale and seeing it up close and personal… that’s something only a handful of people will ever experience. For one lucky tourist boat, this is exactly what happened.

Shot in Baja, Mexico, a group of tourists on a Todos Santos Eco Adventures trip were approached by a young whale who came in for a pat and a quick kiss.
The unbelievable footage was shot by expedition leaders and the company’s owners, Bryan Batson Jáuregui, and her husband, Sergio Jáuregui. Bryan was as stunned as everyone else on the boat trip when she saw the curious whale astonishingly pop out of the water:
Onlookers can be heard saying: “kiss her, kiss her”, as one lucky tourist leans in to touch the young whale. The whale moves its head around as the tourist pats and rubs the top of its nose.
It’s incredible to see how docile and content the whale appears to be. As more tourists lean in, the whale stays close to the boat allowing them to touch its nose. Another brief reminder why marine conservation is so important.
