We last posted about Danny MacAskill when he released his ‘Wee Day Out’ edit, where he explored the rural landscape around Edinburgh and pulled off some insane trials stunts along the way…and it also featured a guest appearance from his dad.
The 31-year-old Scot has proved time and time again that he can ride his bike anyway. So, we shouldn’t be surprised that he recently took to the practice courts at Wimbledon for a game of tennis using his bike.
MacAskill teamed up with former pro tennis players Tim Henman and Goran Ivaniševi to perform in front of the watching crowd.
Cycling fans have been quick to react to the video, which was produced as an ad for Wimbledon sponsor HSBC. AJ Wilkinson commented on HSBC Sports’ Facebook post:
Now that is a small landing zone if you dropped onto the top of the net like it looks like.
Janet Fairbairn added:
The only thing worth watching at Wimbledon.
Others were not so impressed, though. Alex Watson wrote:
I think what we really wanted to see when we clicked on this content is DM smashing up tricks across the whole of the All England LTC. This is just contrived.
Still, one thing we can all agree on: MacAskill’s ‘bunny hop forehand’ and ‘tailwhip backhand’ are sick!
