The Isle of Man TT is known for its full-throttle action, making it one of the most dangerous races in motorsports. With the islands tight roads, and the riders’ excessive speeds, there isn’t a year that goes by when there isn’t a crash or worse a fatality.
Bournemouth rider James Hillier could have suffered a similar fate during the opening lap of the Pokerstars Senior Race, as he whipped over the jump at Ballagarey Corner on his Kawasaki Superbike. As he comes around the bend, his back wheel starts to kick out and his bike begins to shake. His whole body is lifted into the air and his leg is forced out as he tries to regain control of the bike at speeds of around 150 mph.
An incredible save—thanks to lightning-fast reactions, he applied full lock in both directions to bring the bike back under control.
The force with which Hillier’s motorcycle was oscillating as he came over the jump and the fact that Hillier didn’t end up crashing is unreal.
