GoPro held its big reveal event yesterday and unveiled a bunch of new action camera goodies: the long-awaited HERO5, the HERO5 Session, and—perhaps the most exciting new product—its first-ever aerial drone, Karma.
Let’s take a look…
HERO5
To kick things off, GoPro introduced the next generation of the HERO action cam line. The new 4K HERO5 features voice control and, impressively, is waterproof without a housing at up to 33′ (10m). The latest HERO camera also employs advanced video stabilization, a larger 2″ (5cm) display, and now records stereo audio.
The HERO5 will be available on October 2 for £349.99 (UK)/$400 (US).
GoPro has uploaded a few videos, highlighting the new HERO5’s features—check them out (below):

HERO5 Session
The Session line is the compact version of the main HERO line; this new iteration simply continues the successful concept. The HERO5 Session has most of the features packed into the HERO5, but with a much smaller form factor (that costs less). It features voice control, 4K video, waterproofing, three different shooting modes, and one-button control.
The HERO5 session costs less than its bigger brother at £249.99 (UK)/ $300 (US). In many ways, it packs the same punch as the HERO5, so this may be the camera to go for.

Karma
Perhaps the most exciting product revealed by GoPro is their first drone, called Karma—“more that a drone’.
Karma is actually designed to be multi-use (‘not just as a drone’); it’s unique design allows you to capture shots from the air, handheld, and mounted to different types of gear. To achieve this, the drone comes equipped with a removable gimbal that can also be used as a handheld stabilizer (all included in-the-box). Its foldable design also makes it very compact, and GoPro has included a backpack for easy transport.
Karma will be available October 23 for £719.99 (UK)/$800 (US), but can also be purchased as a bundle with the HERO5 or HERO5 Session for a slight overall discount.
If you’re looking for an auto-follow drone for your action shots, check out the Air Dog.
